About me

My aim is to help you find your way through your problems.

My knowledge and experience comes from over 35 years as a mental health professional including senior clinical roles in the NHS and I have been an accredited therapist with the BABCP  since 2003.

I have a BSc (Hons) in Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy from Kings College London / Institute of Psychiatry and a Masters Degree in Psychosocial Interventions from University of Sheffield. As well as CBT, I have been trained in EMDR , Schema Focused Therapy,  Mindfulness , CBT for trauma at the Oxford Cognitive Therapy Center, and Method of Levels .

In addition to my clinical role I am an experienced clinical supervisor for other CBT therapists and have many years experience of developing and presenting training programs.

My Approach

Whereas traditional CBT often focuses on diagnosis my approach is based on Perceptual Control Theory which is an understanding of how all living things operate. The treatment approach based on this (Method of Levels) compliments CBT approaches and leads to a very clear focus on you and your experiences and difficulties, rather than trying to give off the peg solutions.
